Ghosts, ghoulies and ghastly costumes – Halloween is about all things terrifying. But there’s nothing scary in our deliciously sweet vegan cakes – since they’re free from animal products, refined sugar and gluten! One of the best ways to celebrate this haunting holiday is with one of our fearlessly fun Bronuts – baked doughnuts, beautifully decorated, available in a variety of fabulous flavours.
So today I’d like to share my perfect pick of spooky bakes just in time for holiday season. Ideal for Halloween parties - these three limited edition designs prove it’s possible to enjoy a trick and a treat at the same time!
Spiced Apple and Cinnamon a.k.a Monster Mash
I was working in the kitchen, late one night, when my eyes beheld an eerie sight - for my monster from his slab, began to rise - and suddenly to my surprise…the Monster Mash was born!
This fabulously frightening (yet kinda cute) Bronut features a classic combo for Autumn/Winter – sweet apples and spicy cinnamon. Decorated with a sweet, spooky smile of chewy apple pieces and dusted with crunchy coconut sugar muddled with cinnamon.
Gingerbread and Crème Brûlée a.k.a Barry Bandaid
Lovable Barry Bandaid could have emerged straight from the nearest ancient tomb or Egyptian sarcophagus – with his bright googly eyes glaring between white chocolate bandages and deliciously dark active charcoal icing. Underneath his intriguing exterior lies a soft, sweet sponge baked with soft caramel crème brûlée spices.
Matcha and Active Charcoal a.k.a Charlotte’s Web
The iconic Charlotte’s Web is a classic and beloved book and film. If you’re not familiar with the story it tells the tale of Wilbur, the pig and his friend, Charlotte the spider. When Wilbur is at risk of being slaughtered by the farmer Charlotte saves his life, writing a poem for him in her web to persuade the farmer to show him mercy. It’s a timeless tale with a message all the more poignant in today’s society as veganism grows in popularity and as humans we are becoming more compassion and conscious of the suffering of fellow animals. So despite its scary appearance this Bronut was actually inspired less by a spooky spider and more by kindness, compassion and friendship.
This ghoulishly green Bronut features organic ceremonial-grade Matcha, cooling Doterra Mint essential oil and cleansing active charcoal, renowned for its detoxifying and rebalancing properties.
To order in time for Halloween please head to the bronut page on the website www.soulvegan.co.uk by the 28th October.
